In the heart of cattle country, the 46th Annual National Golden Spur Award Honors took place on October 5, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas. A vibrant gathering of 600 ranchers, farmers, and industry enthusiasts paid tribute to the remarkable achievements of Stephen J. “Tio” Kleberg, the recipient of the prestigious 2024 National Golden Spur Award, and Joe N. “Buzz” Thorp, who received the 2024 Ranching Heritage Association Working Cowboy Award.
The event, which is a collaborative effort of six prominent ranching and livestock organisations – the American Quarter Horse Association, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Ranching Heritage Association, Texas Cattle Feeders Association, Texas Farm Bureau, and Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, celebrates the contributions and dedication of individuals who have made a significant impact on the industry.
