Meat processor ABP has been hitting it out of the park lately, racking up a whopping 17 awards at the annual Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards (IQFDA). Imagine the scene at the Mansion House in Dublin, where the ABP team must have been beaming with pride as they scooped up six gold awards, seven silver awards, and four bronze awards for their top-quality meat products across nine different categories.
When it comes to the gold awards, ABP’s excellence shone through in categories like beef steaks sirloin, beef steaks striploin, burgers and meatballs, reduced fat meat, and foodservice meat. Just picture sinking your teeth into their award-winning Sirloin Steak or savoring the taste of their Irish Wagyu Beef Meatballs. The Irish Nature T-Bone Steak even secured the prestigious title of ‘Foodservice Product of the Year,’ cementing ABP’s reputation for quality and innovation.
Moving on to the silver awards, ABP continued to impress with products in categories like beef, beef steaks ‘other’ cuts, beef steaks ribeye, beef steaks striploin, burgers, meatballs, and reduced-fat meat. Their Irish Black Angus Rib on The Bone and Quick Fry Steaks with Tennessee Style BBQ Glaze are just a couple of examples of the mouth-watering creations that wowed the judges at the awards ceremony.
Kevin Cahill, the managing director of ABP Ireland and Poland, expressed his pride and gratitude for the recognition received at the IQFDA. The acknowledgment of ABP’s products alongside those of other top Irish producers is a testament to the company’s dedication, innovation, and hard work. It’s clear that behind every award-winning product lies a team of passionate individuals and farmer suppliers committed to delivering the best of what the Irish food and drink industry has to offer.
But ABP’s recent success doesn’t stop there. The company also received a Responsible Business Award in Northern Ireland for their efforts in collaborating with farmer suppliers to reduce the carbon footprint of red meat. Their Programme for the Improvement of Sustainability of Red Meat (PRISM 2030) was celebrated at the 2024 Responsible Business Awards for its commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
ABP PRISM, launched in November 2022, is a collaborative initiative involving 353 farmers across the UK, including Northern Ireland, with the shared goal of enhancing the sustainability of red meat production in the UK by 2030. Through this program, ABP is taking proactive steps to reduce its environmental impact and promote a more sustainable future for the red meat industry.
As ABP continues to lead the way in producing high-quality, sustainable meat products, their commitment to excellence and innovation shines through. With a string of awards and accolades to their name, ABP is setting the standard for the food and drink industry, not just in Ireland but globally.
So, the next time you’re tucking into a juicy ABP steak or sizzling up some of their award-winning burgers on the grill, remember that you’re not just enjoying a delicious meal—you’re supporting a company that’s dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment and the future of food production.
